Maddy

After the one-two punch of purchasing ALULA in Fiji, and selling Leela locally, we found ourselves boat-less. Didn’t take long to realize we needed a boat in town. We longed for the simpler days of the Black Knight where we could walk or bike to Burrard Civic marina, go for evening Gin & Tonic sails, and swim in English Bay with friends. We bought Maddy, a Grampian 28, from a lovely young mechanical engineer who had been living aboard for the past 2 years. In no time Maddy was moved to our slip at Burrard Civic Marina. Maddy was built in the 1970’s in Ontario, Canada, and enjoys a high build quality.  Saxony’s father and brother expressed an interest in becoming boat partners and we now all share Maddy. We try and organize weekly evening sails during the summer months. Maddy gives us access to summer swims, crabbing, and the nearby Gulf Islands. Oh, and Maddy came equipped with an electric downrigger, so we’re now all budding salmon fishermen/women too!
